Donald Bullocks Head River Walk
The Donald Bullocks Head walk — a 2.5km loop along the Richardson River through Donald’s town park and onto the iconic Bullocks Head tree, a river red gum that has grown to look uncannily like a bullock.

The route
From Donald Lake Park, follow the Richardson River footpath north to the Bullocks Head tree. The tree is a river red gum that has grown a remarkably bullock-shaped face — locals will swear it’s been recognised for over a century. Continue past the rotunda and return via Wood Street.
What you see
The Bullocks Head tree (genuinely odd; worth the walk), Donald’s river-front parks, the historic shire offices, and the impressive 1880s commercial buildings on Wood Street.
