3-Day Kid-Friendly Wimmera Mallee Road Trip
A three-day kid-tested loop with short drives, playgrounds, a zoo, a pink lake, and silos that look like the world’s biggest colouring book.

Day 1 — Horsham + Halls Gap Zoo (70km)
Morning Sawyer Park play equipment + Wimmera River walk. Drive 1hr east to Halls Gap Zoo. Allow 3 hours (kangaroo encounters book ahead). Sleep Halls Gap or back to Horsham.
Day 2 — Pink Lake + Dimboola (90km loop)
Drive west to Dimboola. Dimboola Bakery cult custard tart. Pink Lake at Loch Iel — short boardwalk. Imaginarium for kids. Sleep Dimboola or Horsham.
Day 3 — Brim silos + home (120km)
Drive north to Brim silo — Guido van Helten’s farmers. Picnic. Optional second silo at Sheep Hills. Back to Horsham.
Kid-friendly notes
Goldsworthy Park in Nhill has fenced play equipment and accessible toilets. Edenhope’s Lake Wallace BBQ areas are free electric BBQs with picnic tables. Sea Lake’s silo art is a kid favourite because of Skye the dog in the mural.
