Day 1 — Arrive Halls Gap
Halls Gap Zoo (allow 3 hours; kangaroo encounters book ahead). Lake Bellfield foreshore picnic. Sleep Halls Gap (caravan park or family motel).
Day 2 — Boroka Lookout + Halls Gap (10km)
Short drive to Boroka Lookout (sealed road, stroller-friendly viewing area). Afternoon Halls Gap pool or the Pomonal Hops Farm (seasonal — call ahead).
Day 3 — Halls Gap to Wartook (50km)
McKenzie Falls Bluff Lookout (the base walk is too step-heavy for under-8s — Bluff is the family-friendly view). Drive to Wartook Valley. Lake Wartook dam walk and picnic. Sleep Wartook farm cottages.
Day 4 — Wartook to Horsham via Natimuk (90km)
Drive to Natimuk via Laharum. Mt Arapiles lookout drive — the kids will be amazed by the climbers on the cliff faces below the viewing area. Lunch National Hotel Natimuk (kids menu). Afternoon Horsham — Sawyer Park play equipment, Wimmera River walk. Sleep Horsham.
Day 5 — Horsham home
Botanic Gardens; Botanic Gardens café. Drive home via Stawell.
