1-Day Silo Art Trail Afternoon: Brim, Sheep Hills, Rosebery
If you have a single afternoon to “do” the Silo Art Trail, here’s the high-impact short version: Brim, Sheep Hills, Rosebery. 180km loop from Horsham, three of the trail’s defining murals.
| Distance | 180km loop |
|---|---|
| Days | 1 (afternoon) |
| Difficulty | Easy |
| Vehicle | Any |
| Best time | Late afternoon — best light |
| Start | Horsham |
Step 1 — Horsham to Brim (60km, 45 min)
North on the Henty Highway. Lunch at Horsham before departing. Brim silo (Guido van Helten’s farmers) — the original Silo Art Trail mural. Park at the rest area at the base.
Step 2 — Brim to Sheep Hills (25km, 20 min)
East to Sheep Hills. Adnate’s portrait of Wergaia and Wotjobaluk Elders. The interpretive panels are excellent — take the 15 minutes to read them.
Step 3 — Sheep Hills to Rosebery (35km, 30 min)
North-west to Rosebery. Kaff-eine’s farmer and dog. This is the trail’s quietest silo and often visited last.
Step 4 — Rosebery to Horsham (90km, 1hr 20 min)
Direct back via Beulah and Warracknabeal.
Practical
Take a snack and water — no café between Sheep Hills and Rosebery. Toilets at Warracknabeal or Brim service stations.
