Lake Albacutya Circuit Walk
Lake Albacutya circuit walk — 6km loop around a usually-dry Ramsar wetland on the edge of Wyperfeld National Park. When full (rare), it’s one of the great Mallee wildlife sites.

The walk
Flat shore walking around the lakebed. When full (typically only after major flood years), the lake supports tens of thousands of waterbirds; when dry, it’s an extraordinary moonscape of cracked clay and red gum stands.
What you see
River red gums, possible pelican rafts (full years), kangaroos and emus year-round, malleefowl in surrounding mallee.
Safety
Mobile reception unreliable. Carry water. No drinking water on site.
